Sweet, beautiful spirit, pretty dimples and smart are some ways I describe Natasia and her mom, Rosalind. So, naturally when Rosalind contacted me to plan Natasia’s Japanese themed sayonara party, I was honored. Natasia recently graduated from The University of Louisville and was headed to Japan to teach English. What a wonderful opportunity!
After researching several venues, I found the best hidden gem, Captain’s Quarters Restaurant minutes from downtown Louisville. Unfortunately, the outside area wasn’t conducive for a party with a program because of the restaurant’s noise level from guests at the bar and the featured band for the evening. BUT, they have the CQ Princess yacht! BOOM! So, this beautiful two story yacht became the backdrop for Natasia’s friends, family and sorority sisters to wish her well in her new journey.
Natasia requested lanterns, cherry blossoms and take-out boxes as favors. Her wish was my command! Although, I had limited table top space to work with, I loved designing this celebration. It was simple and elegant with some added details…fortune cookie in the take-out boxes and chopsticks.
If there are a bunch of members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in the house, you can expect to hear the “sweetheart” song. 🎶 But, if she wears the Delta symbol….🎶 I digressed…so easy when talking about my beloved sorority.
Natasia is settled in Japan and love teaching the English language. About the celebration night, her mom, said “It was the most magical night and a day we all will never forget.” You can see more of Rosalind’s comments here.
