For some of us, our dogs are a part of our beloved family. So, it’s not a surprise when couples want to include them in their wedding. There are 4 tips to remember when including your fur baby in your wedding.
- The first tip is to seek approval from the venue. Some venues have strict rules that only service animals are allowed.
- If your dog is allowed, please assign a handler to be with him/her at all times. The handler should be someone other than your wedding planner team.
- Restrict the time your dog is on site. After the ceremony and a few photos, the handler should take your dog to a specified location off site.
- Don’t forget to reward your fur baby afterwards with their favorite treat.
If your dog isn’t comfortable around a crowd of people, it may be best to not include him/her in the wedding. As an alternative, check with your photographer to see if this important family member can be included in some of your engagement photos.
