When planning a celebration, the details are important. For some people, the small things don’t seem like alot but they can be a game changer for your celebration compared to another. I’ve listed four ideas below that can get you started when planning your celebration but first what does the word detail mean as related to weddings and celebrations?
One definition of detail is to provide with fine or intricate added decoration (Source). Details can be small things like wearing your grandmother’s coat, an extra special place setting on the guest tables or place cards hand lettered by the bride. I wrote about details on a previous post that you may be able to find inspiration for your celebration. (Previous post)
Here are four other ways to add details.
Personal photos
I am a huge fan of adding personal elements to every celebration. For a birthday party, you can add some photos of the guest of honor from a young age to his or her present age.
Upgrade Your Bar
Instead of using a regular linen covered table for the bar, rent a speciality bar that would go well with your decor.
Menu cards
Menu cards add an extra elegance to your tablescape. Think acrylic with a beautiful and bold napkin.
Favors – yes or no?
Instead of purchasing favors that tend to end up on the table or in the trash, opt for an edible favor such as a cookie with the couple’s photo or a mini edible cake that is a replica of the wedding cake. Put the cake in a cute little box in your wedding colors and you have another functional added detail to your table.
I hope you find inspiration in these ideas to up level your detail game at your next celebration. If you need help planning that celebration, you can contact me. I would be more than happy to help.
